Joey Loves Dogs

Pet sitting, drop-in visits and walks for Austin dogs. Your house, your dog's routine, and a text from me every day you are gone.

What I do

Care that fits the dog you already have

Rates

What it costs, before you ask

Visits are priced per trip, because each one is its own drive across Austin. House sitting is a flat daily rate, so a multi-day stay is the best value per day of care your dog can get.

How I work

The things I do without being asked

Sunscreen on every walk

Nose and fur, checked every time. Texas sun burns dogs, and the light-coated ones burn fastest.

Pavement temperature check

Before we go out, every time. If the ground is too hot for my hand, it is too hot for their feet.

GPS-tracked walks

You get the route and the distance, so you know exactly where your dog went and for how long.

A daily update that says something

What they ate, how they slept, what they were like. Photos, and the truth when a day is off.

Park trips and water outings

Paddleboarding for the dogs who love water, in a proper life vest. Park visits for the ones who don't.

Optional daily weigh-ins

A logged weight each day for dogs on a plan or coming off an illness, with changes flagged early.

Who is watching your dog

Joey Booker

I spent twelve years in healthcare, starting as a CNA and ending up managing IT projects for Austin hospital systems. That work was all the same thing underneath: pay attention to someone who cannot tell you what is wrong, write down what you saw, and call it early when something changes. It turns out that is most of what good animal care is too.

I am working toward CPDT-KA certification, and I spend my own time on dog behavior, particularly leash reactivity and counterconditioning. If your dog is reactive, anxious, or a project, that is not a problem for me. It is usually the part I find most interesting.

I book a limited number of overlapping stays on purpose. Your dog gets the attention you are paying for, or I tell you I am not available.
